Tri Tran

Tri Tran started his career at Arthur Andersen, a Big 5 accounting firm, and spent 10 years at that firm (later KPMG). While in public accounting, Tri spent the majority his time with emerging technology and wireless telecom companies. He would later leave public accounting to join various Seattle based startups, i.e. aQuantive Inc., and other Fortune 500 companies, i.e. T-Mobile USA.

Tri was at the forefront of Sarbanes Oxley, implementing processes, framework and offices at Microsoft, T-Mobile and large private companies. However, he has always enjoyed the startup world, where he’s been part of the management team – usually as CFO.

Since 2010, Tri has been on the other side of the table, as the CFO of venture capital firms and funds to assess and identify investments in the PNW. He is well versed in fund accounting, structuring investments and helping portfolio companies with their accounting needs.

Tri is an investor in various funds and direct investments and helps run family office investments as well. When he’s not in Excel spreadsheets, Tri likes to get creative with baking pastries for the Flying Fish team.

Tri holds a BA in Business Administration with a focus in Information Systems from the University of Washington.
